Private tutoring for Grades K-12

Meet Ms. Khan

Hi there!

I’m Ms. Khan, and teaching is my passion. For the past twelve years, I’ve had the joy of teaching math, english, and science to middle and high school students. Along this journey, I’ve always felt a calling to make a bigger impact on students tackling core subjects. My goal is to provide personalized guidance and coaching, giving students and their families the tools to take charge of their educational journey. What I love most as a teacher is connecting with each student at their skill level and helping them go beyond what they thought was possible.

So I started Knowledge Works Tutoring to do just that. My approach to tutoring is simple, yet effective. Instead of lectures, I have conversations about the subjects. For example, when tutoring in math, we talk about math. I don’t just give problems for students to do, nor do I just lecture. It’s a conversation that allows me to identify how a student is thinking about math. And from this interactive experience I know how I can help that student, either with clarification of concepts, or with enriching activities. In my experience, students who have worked with me have seen improvement in classroom performance, test scores, and also confidence in themselves to understand subjects at a deeper level.

In the midst of today’s uncertain educational landscape, I want to offer families a chance to take control of their child’s education. I don’t teach to the average student; I focus on the individual, providing a unique learning experience for each student’s needs.

My Background

My teaching journey started right after high school when I decided to dip my toes into private tutoring to earn some extra cash. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, I utilized my academic accomplishments to connect with high school students in need of tutoring. While I was in college, I managed my studies and also helped students from kindergarten to 12th grade in my free time.

In 2019, I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Clayton State University. A couple of years later, in 2021, I achieved another milestone by adding a Master’s in mathematics to my academic repertoire. Now I’m on the home stretch towards completing my Ph.D.

I began my official teaching career as a certified teacher in 2019 at a private high school in Atlanta, where I taught for two years. Then, in 2021, I decided to try something new and joined Stockbridge Middle School. I’ve been teaching 8th-grade math and Algebra there for three years now, and I absolutely love it.

In my time as an educator, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding students through a variety of courses, including:

  • Pre-Algebra
  • Algebra 1
  • Algebra 2
  • Geometry
  • Trigonometry
  • Pre-Calculus
  • Calculus
  • Statistics
  • Integrated math
  • AP Statistics
  • High school English
  • American literature
  • AP English Language and Composition
  • AP Biology
  • AP Chemistry
  • Organic chemistry
  • Earth science

Choosing the right tutor is crucial, and I am confident that my combination of personalized attention, educational expertise, and genuine passion makes me the best choice for guiding your child towards academic success.
